A popular talk given at Preservation and Restoration conferences across the country. Using many colorful and interesting pictures from historic millwork catalogs (many over 100 years old) this talk provides grounding in molding styles, interior design and historic interiors. This talk covers the period 1725-1950 and discusses how technology and styles work to create distinctive moldings and millwork. Other topics touched on include; classicism and classical design, specifying moldings and the proper use of moldings today.
