The primary role of the Boom Truck Driver is to deliver building material products or supplies to customers, vendors or other company locations using an articulated boom truck.

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed): 

  • Safely operate boom truck crane to lift, move, position or place materials at residential and commercial job sites, taking precaution to protect product, equipment and customer property
  • Verify order details and deliver orders to specified destination
  • Load and appropriately secure product, materials, or supplies
  • Deliver product within assigned route schedule and allotted time frame
  • Provide customer service at jobsites
  • Communicate job site issues and customer questions with manager or foreman
  • Execute and understand the importance of time management, standards of operating procedures, owner’s manuals and product/warning labels
  • Maintain log of deliveries, including amounts and/or weights, mileage and locations of deliveries
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of fleet vehicles
  • Responsible for the daily inspections of the vehicle and moffett where applicable

Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of BisTrack or comparable Point of Sale/Dispatch system, preferred
  • Basic math skills required

Qualifications: (Education and yrs of experience)

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be 21+ years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Previous delivery experience, preferably with building material
  • Power Industrial Truck Operator experience, preferred
  • Possess or have ability to obtain PITO certification
  • Possess a valid CDL A or B license and Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card
  • NCCCO Boom certification preferred
  • Boom truck experience required
  • Pass an annual MVR as required per DOT
  • Pre-employment DOT drug screen and random drug screens required
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment and in various weather conditions
