This AIA/CES course will provide a detailed overview of the stile and rail door construction method, its history of use in the United States and its important role in door design. The course also includes a comprehensive survey of Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), its characteristics and use for stile and rail door applications.
At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
- Communicate a detailed technical understanding of stile and rail door construction
- Understand the important role stile and rail construction method played in the history of U.S. door construction
- Understand the important characteristics of medium density fiberboard (MDF) and its application within stile and rail door manufacturing
- Understand the use of stile and rail doors in modern applications via case studies
Upon the conclusion of the AIA approved portion of this seminar, Theresa will provide the latest and greatest updates from TruStile, which include the addition of new options for flush wood doors called Sketch Face that combines vertical and horizontal veneers on the same door. TruStile has also introduced Tru&Modern Ultra Narrow panel door styles to better align their doors with modern window designs.
