Learn More About Eastman, Manufacturers of Perennial Wood Decking

Tuesday, 15 May 2012 22:57

Perennial Wood may seem like just another decking line but it is back by the expertise of a company that has been working with this process for over 80 years.  Watch the video below to learn more about Eastman and Perennial Wood.

The proprietary acetylation technology developed by Eastman creates wood that is long-lasting and change-resistant. Simply put, wood is modified throughout, increasing its dimensional stability, resulting in three times more resistance to shrinking and swelling. It means Perennial Wood warps less, bows less and cups less over the life of the wood.

Best of all, Perennial Wood looks and works like beautiful, real wood, wood that happens to have a physical barrier throughout that is warranted to protect against rot, decay and movement for decades. The durability is real. The applications are endless. The potential is revolutionary. This is the next generation of wood.

We are very excited about what the future holds with Perennial Wood. Perennial Wood Deck Maintenance – Details at Kuiken Brothers Locations in NJ & NY

Tuesday, 15 May 2012 22:41

The factory finish on Perennial Wood comes with a two-year warranty against peeling and blistering. As with all materials, years of sun exposure will slowly fade the finish, so when you're ready to refresh your deck, Perennial Wood decking gives you the most options. You have a number of different ways you can breathe new life into your deck.

Watch the video below to learn more about maintenance of Perennial Wood Deck

  • REFRESH: Simply use water with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner to spruce up the appearance of your Perennial Wood deck
  • RE-STAIN: Add a fresh coat to your deck, reinvigorating your original color
  • RE-COLOR: Strip off your old stain and change the color. Because Perennial Wood is modified throughout, refinishing won't affect the wood's ability to endure
  • REPAIR: For incidental scratches, don't worry. Simply touch up the spot with matching Perennial Wood Deck Finish.

While it is able to resist many of nature's harmful effects, it is still real wood. Factory Finished Perennial Wood Decking Available at Kuiken Brothers in NJ & NY

Tuesday, 15 May 2012 22:15

What makes Perennial Wood a convenient choice for your deck? Watch the video below for more information on the factory finish available on Perennial Wood Decking.

It comes factory finished with a consistent multi-coated application, available in four great finishes; Cape Cod Gray, Cedar, Redwood and Mahogany. While the stain helps to provide an attractive appearance, Perennial Wood's TruLast technology modifies the wood throughout, so even without stain your deck is protected from the elements. This means cut boards don't have to be end-sealed to preserve the wood.

DeckFinish - Cedar

Over time, sun will slowly fade the finish, so when you are ready to refresh your deck, Perennial Wood Decking gives you the most options. The simplest approach is to periodically spruce up the appearance of your deck by using water with a mild pH cleaner. By applying a fresh coat of Perennial Wood stain, you can reinvigorate the look with minimal prep-work. For an even bigger change, you can re-color your deck. To re-stain Perennial Wood, strip off your old stain and re-stain with a color of your choosing. Because it is modified to the core, refinishing won't affect the woods ability to endure.

Scratches? Simply touch up the spot with matching stain.
