Tudor Style Home Features Andersen 400 Series Windows, Black Interior Grilles Replicate Look of Traditional Steel Casement Windows

Andersen Windows & Doors shared this incredible project that one of their Minnesota dealers supplied featuring the 400 Series and A-Series hinged patio doors. We’ve received numerous inquiries for steel windows over the years and thought that they provide a great solution which will have the energy performance requirements of northern New Jersey and southern New York and the price-point of an Andersen 400 Series product. Before we get started though, let’s give some credit to the people that brought this project to life in the field:

Builder: Carl M. Hansen Companies (Edina, Minnesota)
Architect: Tom Rauscher, Rauscher & Associates (Minneapolis, Minnesota)

Now let’s take a look inside this stunner.

Andersen 400 Series Casement and Picture windows with full divided light grille patterns in black and white painted window frames. When specifying these windows, make sure to speak with your Kuiken Brothers representative and ask that the grilles be painted black and the interior frame painted white. This will give you the look of steel and the energy performance to meet today’s demands.

This contemporary take on the Tudor style home proves there’s an exception to every rule. An outdoor courtyard complete with fireplace in front greets guests and is a unique take on the indoor/outdoor movement.

Signature items of the Tudor style such as embellished doorways, bay windows, and transom windows above doors are much larger than what one normally imagines for the style. The larger windows modernize the style and allow an abundance of natural light to illuminate every room. The 400 Series casement and picture windows in this home feature black exteriors, black grilles and white interior sash and frame. This contrast between grille and sash adds a unique depth and character to the look of the home.
