Kuiken Brothers is now stocking Haida Skirl Wavy Edge Siding, which combines the legendary performance of Western Red Cedar with a unique manufacturing process that creates a distinctive look that cannot be replicated by any other material.

Hand crafted, the deep texture and wavy edge of Haida Skirl makes a dramatic statment that enhances the street appeal of any home.

The actual dimension of this siding we will stock will be 7/8" to15/16" thick x 9-1/2" wide (nominal 1x10) in the STK grade. Additionally, each piece of Haida Skirl is carefully inspected and all knots Permi-Fused where necesary to provide 100% tight knot grade. It is the only wavy edge siding that is manually produced by specially trained operators. The extra thickness of Haida Skirl siding provides a deeper shadow line which emphasizes and enhances its appearance on your home.

Boral TruExterior Poly-Ash Trim - Available at Kuiken Brothers in NJ & NY

Kuiken Brothers is pleased to announce that we have added a new exterior trim board line to our stock offering this year. It is called Boral TruExterior Trim.

Boral TruExterior Trim is made from a combination of a bio-based polymer and fly-ash (which is a byproduct of coal combustion). Combining the ash with a polymer makes a sustainable product with some excellent characteristics. Unlike wood, it won't rot, crack, or split. It's so stable that it is even approved for ground contact meaning you could bury it and still nothing will happen to it. It has virtually no expansion and contraction and does not require end-sealing (the biggest cause of product failure with primed pine). It is also a reversible product and can be painted any color.

At this time, Boral TruExterior Trim is only available in the following sizes (although they do have plans to add more dimensions to round out the offering this Spring 2012):

• 1x4x16'
• 1x6x16'
• 1x8x16'
• 1x12x16'
• 5/4x4x16'
• 5/4x6x16'

CedarSIDE Siding Cuts Installation Time and Costs

Factory primed CedarSIDE siding saves a time consuming and costly coating step on the jobsite. It's no longer necessary to wait for a break in the weather to prime and topcoat real Western Red Cedar Siding.

Engineered Clear Heart Vertical Grain Western Red Cedar

CedarSIDE cedar siding is engineered from Clear Heart Vertical Grain Western Red Cedar produced by one of the finest mills in the world; Terminal Forest Products. CHVG solid WRC segments are assembled through a high-tech process to create virtually invisible, precision fitted "finger" joints that are actually stronger and more weather resistant than the surrounding wood. CedarSIDE siding is always 100% 1/2"x6"x16' lengths.

Primed to Perfection

Under controlled conditions, the optimum thickness of primer is applied to all six sides of the cedar siding. This is rarely achieved when boards are coated on the job site. Pressure rollers and high speed brushes drive the coating deep into the wood fibers. Afterwards, the CedarSIDE wood siding is dried in a temperature controlled drying room to ensure complete curing of the prime coat. Terminal Forest Products technology is your assurance of long lasting performance and versatility as the primed siding can be installed with the smooth or rough face exposed. It could be the last siding your home will ever need.

Field Applied Topcoats

CedarSIDE cedar siding cuts your installed siding costs to a minimum. CedarSIDE's stain-blocking alkyd oil primer is compatible with oil or latex based topcoats (many of which offer multi-year warranties). For optimum performance apply two coats of a top quality 100% acrylic topcoat as soon as possible but within one year from the date of installation. Always prime end and rip cuts during the installation process.

CedarSIDE is warranted to the original purchaser/building owner against extractive bleeding for 1 year from the date of purchase. Additionally, if either the substrate or the factory coating system is determined to be defective within the warranty period, the product will be repaired or replaced free of charge.
